Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been declared the second-most influential person in mobile technology by US Laptop magazine.
Jobs has taken second place in a 25-strong account of the top people in the field, achieving his place primarily through Apple's launch of the iPhone.
iSuppli's vice president of multimedia content and distribution, David Carnevale, is quoted saying: "When you look over the last twelve months or so at Apple, what impresses me is their ability to continue to evolve their existing product lines as they introduce significant new things like the iPhone."
Jobs draws praise for nurturing a corporate culture of risk and innovation at the company, leading to the development of technologically-advanced products that are easy and intuitive to use.
Jobs’ leadership is inextricably tied to the culture of risk and innovation that has seen the company change how we perceive mobile technology. “With these creative bold strokes, it’s impossible to separate Apple the company from Steve Jobs the man,” said Carnevale.
Naturally, Apple's laptops also draw praise, with Carnevale saying: "I can't think of another company that would have taken a chance on a product like the MacBook Air."
