Kodak has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing it of infringing four digital camera image-related patents.
The move is seen as a last-ditch attempt to keep the struggling camera maker afloat. The complaint has also been filed with the US Internation Trade Commission, Reuters reports.
Kodak is also suing HTC in relation to the same four patents, as well as a fifth patent that Kodak believes the Taiwanese company has infringed.
Kodak's patents relate to sharing digital images from cameras without having to upload them to a PC first and the company claims that Apple and HTC are infringing these patents by selling mobile camera phones and tablets.
Kodak wants to prevent Apple selling the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and is also seeking damages. It filed the federal lawsuits in Rochester, New York.
According to Reuters, Kodak's current market value is around $162m - dwarfed by Apple's current worth of $393bn.
