Amazon is planning a 10in version of its Android-based Kindle Fire tablet and will launch it at some time in the second quarter.
That's according to sources spoken to by Digitimes, which reports that Foxconn will make the new device. Quanta Computer makes the 7in version of the Kindle Fire.
Shipments of the 10in Kindle Fire will begin in Q2 2012, Digitimes says. Amazon shipped just under four million Kindle Fires in the US - the only market it is currently available in - in the final quarter of 2011.
However, Digitimes' own research suggest that Amazon will only shift 1.5 million Kindle Fires in the first quarter of 2012.
