Apple is not inclined to settle in a dispute over alleged price-fixing in the ebook market, according to a report.
Apple and a number of book publishers are suspected of pushing up ebook prices and are under investigation by the US Justice Department and the European Commission.
The report in the Wall Street Journal claims that Apple, along with publishers Pearson and Macmillan are not inclined to settle. However, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins Publishers and the Hachette Book Group are.
The US government first warned Apple that it will sue them for pricing collusion on 9 March, two days after the new iPad was unveiled. The antitrust lawsuit could eliminate Apple's agency model and benefit both consumers and retailers such as Amazon.
