Imation’s Apollo is one of the smallest hard disks reviewed here, offering a relatively modest 160GB storage capacity. However, there are 250GB, 320GB and 500GB models available too, so you can get more space if you need it.

The Apollo drive is very slim and light, so it will be easy to carry around with your laptop. (You’ll need to reformat the drive first as it’s supplied pre-formatted for use with PCs.) It includes a backup program called TotalMedia that works with Macs, so this will be useful for people that aren’t already using Time Machine. However, we’d like to see proper instructions for reformatting the drive in the skimpy instruction manual, to help out less experienced users.
