Macworld Buying Advice
ContentBarrier worked very effectively during our tests, and blocked all the unsuitable websites we attempted to visit while it was active. Our only real complaint is that it’s a little pricey. For example, the Mac version of Net Nanny (which, incidentally, was co-developed by Net Nanny and Intego) costs £22.50 at www.amazon.co.uk – compared to £39.99 for ContentBarrier.

Star Rating:
Duration of ownership: 3 years
Strengths: very easy to use, doesn't slow down my brower, filtering is almost perfect and web administration is a great value added in the new X5
Weaknesses: none
Overall Evaluation: I have been using ContentBarrier for several years now, and am extremely pleased with tit. I use it to prevent my kids from surfing inappropriate sites, and my wife has the password. I've found that it is very difficult to get into porn sites, as long as enough "key words" including body parts, and a few words like "amateur" are put into the application. I highly recommend it !!
