The iPad prices look higher than the prices in the US, but it should be noted that UK prices include VAT at 17.5 per cent, where tax is added to the US pricing at the time of sale.

If the US prices are converted to sterling, and compared to the UK prices before VAT there is between £22 and £40 difference.

  UK US DIFFERENCE
16GB Wi-Fi £365 £335 £30
32GB Wi-Fi £425 £403 £22
64GB Wi-Fi £510 £470 £40
16GB Wi-Fi + 3G £450 £423 £27
32GB Wi-Fi + 3G £510 £490 £20
64GB Wi-Fi + 3G £595 £558 £37

So it's not so bad really.
