Sharp Electronics UK has today announced the launch of a new eco-range of calculators. The three models in the range have both upper and lower case made of 100% post consumer recycled plastic and come with their user manuals printed on the blister packaging, reducing paper usage and waste to landfill.
The pocket-sized ELR277BBK is powered entirely by a solar cell, utilising Sharp’s world-leading solar technology. The larger ELR287BBK mini-desk calculator and ELR297BBK desk calculator both offer a slim design with kick stand to adjust the viewing angle, and silicon rubber grips on the edge of the calculator for robustness and improved comfort in the hand.
These two models also boast an extremely useful Tax and Cost/Sell/margin function and large 12 digit LCD displays, while the desk model includes bigger keys for ease of data entry.
Sharp UK’s product manager, Kevin English, commented, “This launch is a very exciting move for Sharp, bringing our sector-leading calculator technology in line with the company’s overall environmental strategy. The new use of environmentally-aware production materials has come at no expense to functionality, user-friendliness or Sharp’s trademark stylish design.”
