Target warns employees to expect a 'high profile' product this week

Giant US retailer Target is warning employees to be prepared for a "very significant" product announcement on Wednesday.

AppleInsider reports the retailer will be "one of the first resellers" of the unnamed device. The company's internal memo describes the device as a high profile and a "high theft" device, that report claims.

Employees are being warned to be prepared to take delivery of the device outside of normal delivery hours.

AppleInsider speculates that the shipments will be of new devices - potentially a new generation of iPods - that Apple is expected to debut during its special event tomorrow night.
