Google and Apple are working together on "many more" partnerships, confirmed Google CEO and Apple board member Eric Schmidt last night.

Schmidt was speaking at the Morgan Stanley technology conference in San Francisco, but declined to provide any details of the two companies and their joint future plans, MarketWatch reports.

He was fielding a question that asked if Google and Apple are working together on some kind of tablet device. He said: "We are doing more and more things together. We have similar goals, similar competitors."

Analysts are interested on account of the recent revelation that the iPhone will offer built-in Google search and access to Google Maps.
