Quark has bought MobileIQ, the UK-based creator of the PressRun digital magazine and newspaper app service behind titles such as the Metro newspaper, and BBC Good Food and Stuff magazines. The service is also about to debut its first HTML5-based web app for the British Medical Journal (BMJ).
Quark says that its initial plans are to run PressRun as a separate service to its App Studio publishing service. Beyond that, it's not saying.
Mobile IQ's PressRun solution for tablet publishing will continue to support multiple content creation formats, including HTML5, XML, and Adobe InDesign, to which CS6 support has just been added.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
