The Soulmen on Monday released Ulysses 2, the newest version of its creative writing program.

The update sports a brand new interface throughout, as well as new project templates and project-wide search and replace. In addition, there are dozens of new enhancements and improvements to the browser and editor, such as the ability to add bookmarks, wider export format support, completely reworked preferences, a new startup panel, and more.

Ulysses 2 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later and costs €45 (around £38) for a new license or €25 (£21) to update from any previous version.

The Soulmen were formed by key members of the Blue Technologies Group, after six years of developing Mac OS X applications such as Ulysses, Stapler and the Localization Suite.

All products will be rebranded and relaunched during the course of the coming months says the team, starting with Ulysses 2.0 and Ulysses core.

Looks interesting - but doesn't seem to include the ability to spell "separates" - "At its core, Ulysses is a semantic text editor that borrows concepts from Setext and LaTeX. It truly seperates content from presentation"
