Blurb, a creative publishing and marketing platform for user-created books, has announced QuickStart Books, promising to make the book making process even similar.
QuickStart Books gives access to the most popular book layouts and templates. Once you download these free templates, all you need to do is drag and drop your pictures, add copy to help tell your story.
Blurb believes the new service is ideal for beginners looking to give an unique gift, particularly with Christmas coming up next month.
QuickStart Books are available on Blurb’s new Gift Centre portal, an area of the site designed to give people who are planning to create a book as a gift all the help they need to get started quickly.
The website features ‘how-to’ video tutorials which provide advice on a range of design techniques, links to subscribe to webinars, and information on all the different options for book sizes and pricing.

Last month Blurb, announced the availability of BookSmart 2.5, free software for creating books on a Mac and PC with a range of new features, enhancements, bug fixes and stability improvements.
The update includes improved library management, a contextual resource library to get help from within BookSmart, guidance for trim lines and safe area, snap to grid, new design tools and more.
Blurb also announced flat-rate shipping rates, significantly reducing the shipping costs for customers ordering between 1 to 5 books.
