Conceited Software has announced HealthNut 1.0, a diet aid and calorie tracking application for Mac OS X.
HealthNut remembers everything you've eaten and lets you review diet change, and comes with thousands of built-in food items, each with predefined nutrients and energy value.
The application can also manage your personal goals and offers instant visual feedback to see if you are successfully sticking to your diet.
According to Conceited Software, users can easily combine various foods to create new items as well as offering a detailed protein/carbs/fat breakdown.
System requirements are Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and the software is Universal.
HealthNut 1.0 costs €13.99, around £12. A free 15-day trial is also available.

Tried first item: Boiled Egg. It has never heard of it. If it can't handle that, I don't hold out much hope that it's useful. Looking through the list of products they are all US centric.

Marky, I did a search for poached egg and it came back with: "Egg, whole, cooked, poached."
It's even recognised spelt pasta and quinoa.

Poached egg wasn't what I had for breakfast. It was 2 boiled eggs. Given up on it. I'm sure they have boiled eggs in America but not worth the hassle.
