There are dozens of Bluetooth headsets available that you can use with an iPhone, but very few sets of Bluetooth stereo headphones designed for listening to music. Bluetooth doesn’t have a very good reputation when it comes to music, but Nokia's BH-604 is one of the better attempts we’ve seen at producing wireless Bluetooth headphones.

The BH-604 looks just like an ordinary set of closed-can headphones, with big padded earpieces and an adjustable headband - minus the cable. You can ‘pair’ the headphones with your iPhone or Mac quite easily by pressing the Multifunction button on the right earpiece to make them enter pairing mode.

As well as simply playing music, the headphones also allow you to control music playback. There are large buttons on the right earpiece for skipping forward and backwards through tracks, and also for adjusting the volume. It even has a microphone built into it so that you can take phone calls as well if need be.

The profusion of buttons crammed onto that right earpiece meant that we would sometimes end up pressing the wrong button by mistake.

The audio quality is good, although the process of sending the music over a wireless connection causes a slight loss of clarity. However, the real strength of these headphones is that they allow you to listen to your music as you move around.

If all you want is a set of high-quality stereo headphones then we’d recommend sticking with conventional wired headphones, but if you need the freedom of a wireless headset then the BH-604 provide that freedom without sacrificing too much quality.
