All the routers here are Mac compatible but Belkin’s N+ Modem Router is the only one that could really be described as Mac friendly.
Belkin is the only company in this group to include Mac software with its router. Its Setup Assistant quickly guides you through the process of setting up the router and configuring security settings. It even explains the differences between the WEP and WPA2 security standards and how to choose between them.

Other handy features include a USB port for connecting storage devices to your network, along with four Ethernet ports for wired connections. There’s also a ‘speedometer’ indicator on the front panel to indicate the download speeds you’re getting from your internet connection.

Duration of ownership: 14 days
Strengths: Good wireless router
Weaknesses: Useless as a hard wired (ethernet) router. Blocked ftp sites and upload did not seem to be a way of stopping it.
Overall Evaluation: I bought this from Amazon and I am glad I did, it turned out despite the glowing reviews by every magazine to be a real turkey. It would not work at an sort of speed when hardwired, but was faster than the zyxel it was replacing on wireless. I was unable to upload or download from ftp sites and the appalling complexity of the software did not allow me to fix that though it probably can be done.
