The WP-350s fold down flat when not in use
- Manufacturer: Creative
- Pros: Good audio quality; compact; lightweight design
- Cons: Could use a little more volume
- Price: £69.99
- Star rating:
Creative Labs makes a wide range of wireless headphones, including some rather expensive gaming models that use radio technology. However, its Bluetooth headphones are a better option for simply listening to music, and the mid-range WP-350s provide good audio quality and comfort at an attractive price.
The headphones use an on-ear design, but are still fairly compact. The earpieces fold flat when not in use, which means they can easily slip into a backpack or briefcase. The WP-350s are also quite light, and the earpieces and headband are padded and comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time.
The built-in rechargeable battery lasts for around eight hours, which should see you through long journeys on trains and planes. There’s also a built-in microphone for taking phone calls, and Creative also includes a little carrying pouch to protect it from knocks and bumps.
The WP-350s use standard Bluetooth for transmitting your music, and the audio quality is very good. The sound is nicely detailed, with a nice, firm bass, although higher frequencies can sound a little harsh at times. We wouldn’t mind a little more raw volume either, but that’s a common complaint with Bluetooth headphones.

In addition, the WP-350s also support the higher-quality apt-X audio codec. Although this isn’t currently supported by the iPhone or any other iOS devices, Creative sells an optional apt-X adaptor called the BT-D5. Priced £39.99, it plugs into an iOS device’s dock connector in order to provide apt-X support. We don’t believe that it’s particularly essential, but it’s a useful option that may well appeal to some audiophiles.
