Thu, 06 Aug 2009 Netgear DGN2000 Wireless-N router review
We take a look at this competitively priced modem/router from Netgear
- Manufacturer: Netgear
- Pros: Competitively priced, includes both modem and router
- Cons: No Mac software or USB port for network storage
- Price: £74.99
- Star rating:
Netgear’s DGN2000 is a compact and neatly designed router and, like the Belkin N+, it includes both a Wireless-N router and an ADSL modem at a good price.
We were a little disappointed to see that the setup software included on the CD runs on Windows PCs only, but there’s a note on the CD sleeve directing Mac users to the PDF manual on the disc, which includes detailed instructions for using the router with a Mac. Even so, we’d still prefer to see some proper Mac software provided with the DGN2000, as less experienced users might find the installation process a little confusing if this is the first time they’re setting up a wireless router.
