Tue, 11 Aug 2009 Linksys WRT320N Dual-Band review
The Linksys WRT320N is a powerful device that can be up and running in minutes.
- Manufacturer: Linksys
- Pros: Dual-band router, attractive design, good installation software
- Cons: Doesn’t include a modem
- Price: £89.99
- Star rating:
The last time we looked at a Linksys router the company was still working on developing some proper software for the Mac. Thankfully, it now seems to have sorted out the Mac side of things, and the WRT320N Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router is supplied with a Setup program that runs on the Mac and allowed us to get the router up and running in a matter of minutes.
We like the streamlined ‘flying saucer’ design of the router, which makes a pleasant change from the boring boxy design of most routers. It doesn’t include a modem, so you’ll need to use your existing broadband modem to connect the router to the internet. However, its strong point is that it’s a ‘dual-band’ router that allows you to select either the 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz frequency band.
