London-based developer ships eBook solution
Small London-based developer, Wooji Juice has introduced Voluminous, a Mac OS X application that finds, downloads, formats and manages collections of public domain books from the internet.
Voluminous is offering access to 20,000 titles and promises to make new titles available regularly. The application allows users to search by title, author, or browse the topic catalogue (itself based on the Library of Congress classification scheme.)
Titles include some of the classics of literature, including Shakespeare's plays and works from Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, James Joyce, Tolstoy, Mary Shelley, H G Wells, Jules Verne and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Voluminous (£15) requires either a PowerPC or Intel Mac running Leopard with a minimum recommended 1.4GHz PowerPC processor.
A trial version is available.
