Hi all,

Is anyone networking between mac and pc.
Can it be done? How?

Depending on how I proceed, editing will be done in FCP and
encoding with bitvice. I will then need to transfer the mpeg streams over to a win NT system.

Is this possible. Anyone doing anything similar with data?

cheers

Dartanion,

The simple answer is yes, it can be done, and it is quite simple. IF you are using OSX. It is beyond the scope here to tell you exactly how, but OSX interfaces to windows machines pretty well and folk are doing it all the time.

If the PC and the Mac are the ONLY machines being connected, then you can use an ethernet crossover cable to join them directly, otherwise you need to sort out IP addresses and network settings etc.

You can use file sharing on the mac to 'appear' as a windows file server to the PC.

Have fun.

Dave

You may get more answers on general Mac topics on the Mac Help & Tips Forum (see link above), but you are perfectly entitled to ask them here as well.
