The previous generation by 2 MBP 17" (I have a 2.6Ghz with hires screen and the fast HD) is an exceptionally capable machine. Final Cut Studio, CS3, work absolutely fine on it. For most people it would be an exceptional desktop machine.

Given we are now two iterations on, I'd suggest that the current 17" machine would blow away almost all Laptops on the market and many desktops.

What's not to like?
