I wonder if anybody could advise me how simple it would be to injest material shot on a Panasonic TM300 in AVCHD 1920 by 1080 to Proxy Pro Res for online and then rebatch capture and conform in Pro Res 422.

Or whether it's better to capture in the first instance in 422 Pro res and then use Media Manager to create and offline Proxy copy,

In any event as I am not sure there is any timecode as such does anybody know the specific workflow to offline/online in this way

factualfilms,
I would capture all the footage to Pro res LT, PR422 is overkill for AVCHD. For the cost of a 500GB drive the offline online route would not save any time/money - if HD space is an issue. FYI My work with Sanyos AVCHD MP4 720P footage looked identical in Pro res Proxy. Best of luck with your project, Adam

abjectboy,

Thanks...proxy looked the same as what? LT or Pro Res...trouble is I am going to be projecting and am keen to try and keep the maximum res as I am worried about artifacts.

For sure stills I have lifted have been the same res irrespective of HQ, 422 or LT but Proxy does seem to compress a bit.
