hi all, I am a new member to this forum. Im looking to sell my imac as I have upgraded to a new 27 inch imac.

For Sale is an 20" Intel Core 2 Duo iMac purchased in November 2007. This imac is still going strong, and is in perfect condition! It has been used in a smoke free enironment and will be missed.

This imac is FULLY UPGRADED & comes with Loads of accessories!

After purchasing the computer, I upgraded the Hard Drive from 320GB to 1TB using Jigsaw Computer Systems, which alone costed £130, as well as maxing out the RAM to 4GB.

There are 3 very small chips at the top (can be seen in the pictures. Apart from that it is asthetically perfect)!

The original install disks supplied with this machine are 10.4 Tiger, However I have wiped the computer and installed Mac Os X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

The original wired Apple Keyboard & Mouse are NOT INCLUDED. HOWEVER, I have replaced it with the NEW Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse.

iMac comes with its original box and packaging.

Anyone involved in music would benefit this auction the most. Needless to say this is still suitable for anyone.

SOFTWARE - I am offering to install any/all of the software in the list below for the winning bidder. They are all genuine copies and all together worth several hundred pounds.

* Adobe Photoshop CS3
* Apple Remote
* Logic Studio 9
* Office Mac 2008
* Toast 9 Titanium
* i'Work '09
* i'Life '11
* Windows Vista Ultimate x32 or windows 7

*I highly reccommend that the winning bidder uses an external Hard drive and Time Machine to back up the system contents and all applications*

ACCESSORIES

* Apple Wireless Keyboard
* Apple Wireless Might Mouse
* Apple Display Port to DVI Adapter
* Apple Display port to VGA Adapter
* Apple Remote

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Collection from Bristol IS preferred, but I am more than happy to arrange postage, which include insurance for £25.

overgrowntroll,

Welcome to the site, although not sure your username inspires confidence

This post is not really an "Industry view or opinion", it's an advert. And while it's a nice computer you're selling, It's probably best to use a site like eBay for selling it. The only exception would probably be if the advert read 'Free to good home'

Dragonfly,

I understand its bit of a mis-placed topic, but before I joined the forums I did do a search and it says its ok to place adverts to sell things. I saw 1 or 2 other topics where people had put up ads in the 'industry view or opinion' forum, and thats the only reason i posted it in this one because I didn't know where else to post it.

I am trying to avoid ebay, and avoid all the hassle from it.

I have noticed that in all the US mac forums there are ads always going up, and people making swaps and sales etc all the time, I don't quite understand why its not the same in the UK.

Addmiteedly I am struggling to sell this, so maybe I will have to resort to ebay.

overgrowntroll,

yes, adverts for personal sales are allowed, but not adverts for commercial sales. However they are something of a rarity and I'm not sure how successful they tend to be.

If I were selling anything, I would have included a price and a brief description. Personally I couldn't be bothered to look on another site to see if an item were of interest ( not that I would be looking for an iMac anyway as I'm thrilled with mine ).

overgrowntroll,
Ah, sorry, I sit corrected. It's apparently OK to advertise your private stuff here on this forum. I should read the rules more thoroughly Thanks Alan for correcting me there. I guess Classified Ads would be a good replacement to the posts we used to get here, back when the Forum was popular

overgrowntroll,

I don't think that what you have now cut and pasted into your original posting would be considered a brief description, but don't worry about it. What you've done probably says rather a lot about all sorts of things.

Personally I wouldn't regard a link to an auction site as a bona fide advert, primarily because you're not mentioning a selling price. However I'm not aware of it falling foul of this site's rules but my feeling is that it might be regarded as spam and deleted as such. Maybe a staffer at Macworld would care to clarify the situation ?

overgrowntroll,

I'm intrigued as to why you would buy brand new copies of all that software, instead of transferring it over from the old machine?
