running pro tools le 6.4 on power mac g4 cpu speed 733MHz ram 768MB. During both recording and playback I (occasionally) get error message -9073 : "DAE can't get audio ... fast enough ..."
Is there a simple solution (eg increase ram)?

pitz,

I can't speak from specific experience of that Pro Tools setup, but if speed appears to be the limiting factor, there are two places to look at.

One is RAM. It's the most cost effective way of speeding up a Mac.

The other is the speed of the hard drive. If it's a fast, internal HD, it's probably OK, but a slower HD connected via a poor USB interface may prove to be a bottleneck.

My guess is that if you're getting these errors when doing non-damanding ( ie no clever processing ) recordings or playbacks, then it's the HD that is the bottleneck.
