The iPhone 4S' personal assistant was a key feature when the phone launched in October 2011. But nine months later, do you still use Siri?

Ashleigh Allsopp,
Use it? Other than being able to tell us what its name is we haven't actually got it to do anything vaguely useful. Then again, as we live outside the US there isn't really that much it could do even if it understood our every word.

I'm led to understand that Siri will be getting a much needed makeover in iOS 6...and I believe that also means we'll be able to use it outside of America.

These improvements need to bring Siri up to 'primetime' and fast because it won't be long before it turns into another iPod Hi-Fi and nobody wants that...

Ashleigh Allsopp,
I think you mean October 2011. I also agree with grumpygiraffe. In the UK Siri has very limited appeal. Looking back I think I would have been just as happy going for for the cheaper iPhone 4.

I also have a worry about Apple's new mapping service - probably good if you are in the US, but this side of the Atlantic we may have to wait a year or more for similar functionality.

zanc,
Thanks, I think you're right! Though it would be rather impressive if Siri could time travel...

grumpygiraffe,

i totally agree with your view, however i dont think that apple have had enough time (especially without jobs) to make siri what it is said to be in iOS 6
