benreilly,
Well, Traktor DJ studio from Native Instruments is emerging as the most prominent DJ software, but for a gentle learning curve and low cost - well, it's free, it's probably worth checking Sonophile Software's DexTasy.

This software is made by DJs and is approachable and easy to get to grips with.

JonnyEvans,

Thanks for the tip.

After alot of searching I found DJ-1800. This seems to be what i'm looking for. It looks "relatively" easy to use and will use my music store on my ipod. Just need to sort a second audio out on the ibook, hopefully I'll be able to get a cheap iMic at expo.

....but it looked so easy in the book!!
