For those of you not at the Mac Expo show last week, Digital Heaven were showing a partner app to FCP that provides 3 (lite version) or even up to 20 (pro version, not shown) channels of camera feed for you to cut between, then trim, switch, etc to hearts content.

After syncing your camera channels in FCP, export as XML into MultiCam, twiddle away, then export back to FCP to find a new channel with all your cuts ready for transitions, filters and so on (and of course you can still trim, slip and roll the finished edit).

It all looked very satisfying. I wonder how this stacks up against Avid?

Dig into the software section here - http://www.digital-heaven.co.uk; they're looking for beta testers of the Pro version!

MattDavis,
This is very interesting... thanks for the heads up Matt.
I have to say that, in my experience, FCP has all I ever need as an editor.... Ocassionally though one stumbling block has presented itself.... Multicamera work.
For me, I've only ever cut multicam stuff the old fashioned way - sync it up on ther TL and switch between tracks to get a finsihed edit.
However I have known people turn their back on FCP in favour of Premiere(!) because of the multicamera options available for the Adobe program.
No more! Finally, multicamera editing comes to FCP.
Brilliant.
Chris
