I have a couple of feature length films mastered on Betacam that I would like to author onto DVD. I have FCP 4 but have had problems capturing and then exporting long-form projects(say 100 minutes) before. Is capturing into FCP 4 as one file then simply dropping into iDVD or Studio Pro the easiest way to do this. If not then what is?

Tcow,

Capture in slightly overlapping 15 minutes sections. Edit it together, Export as Self-contained movie (if you have the room). Drop the sequence into Compressor, select a relevant setting. Wait for the encode. Use A-Pack to do the AC-3. Then drop the MPEG2 and AC-3 into DVDSP.
