The following was posted to the uk.comp.sys.mac Usenet group. The chap who posted it hasn't received any replies and I thought I would replicate it here in the hope you might be able to assist/advise.

"We've got a few musicians in the group, and I'm just starting to get
into Cubase SE's VST feature rather than using it to control physical
MIDI instruments.

Do people have any recommendations for a good starter pack of VST
instruments? I'm looking to transfer over old Roland D20 tracks (so a
VST version of old Roland L/A synths such as the D20 and D50 would be
damned handy), but other than that I'm interested in better orchestral
strings, some good vintage synth sounds (think Tony Banks circa early
1970s) and some decent modern synths too, the model names of which I'm afraid I've not kept up with.

Cheers,

Ian"

Can you assist him?

Yule blessings,

Margo

Margolotta,

I'm afraid I can't be of any use. He's asking for information about things that I don't use.

Margolotta,

I'd suggest that he tries posting the same questions in the forums of the following websites:

www.osxaudio.com
www.macmusic.com
www.soundonsound.com

vsmith1,

I suspect that you actually mean
www.MacMusic.org

Even if it's not what you intended to type, it's still a good one to try.
