Im planning on buying an ibook 800.
It has 128Mb RAM as standard.

Can I use a spare 256Mb 144pin sodimm I have laid around for this purpose (133Mhz CAS3)? Or, must I use a one from Crucial??

Many Thanks...

Andy_Burn,

Yes. Probably.

Check the specs on Crucial's website, but if it's a 100MHz+ SODIMM 144pin chip, there's every chance that it will work.

I've had RAM move from a Wallstreet PowerBook, through a Rev B iMac and into a Rev A iBook with no problem. I'm pretty sure the same chip will would also work in my PowerBook G4/400.

I don't think that you'll do any harm by trying it out, and it's not as if it takes more than 30 seconds to put the chip into an iBook.
