Hi

I need to provide my client with a split track master on Digital Beta. I have separated vox onto A1 & A2 and put the music mix on A3 & A4. However when i try to edit to tape only channels 1 & 2 record. Weirdly print to video works? how to I get edit to tape to do the same so as I can provide professionally timecoded sub masters?

regards Steve Penticost

stevepenticost,

If everything is assigned as it should be in FCP and the Digibeta
is configured correctly then I would follow these steps.

http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/trashing_fcp_prefs.html

I had the same problem and spent hours trying to track it down in settings etc and eventually cured it by trashing my preferences.

Let us know if that helps

jimmyfinn,

Cheers Jimmy - trashing the prefs seems to have worked fine.

stevepenticost,

I've just discovered that the if the 'Downmix' function is enabled
in the audio mixer, it will give the same problem. I'm guessing
that this was in fact the problem. Trashing preferences reset that
and hence cured the problem. Might save someone else the hassle!
