Step 2 of 7: Step 1: Spend some credit

First, you’ll need to buy some CinePacks, most of which include lenses, films and filters. To start with, you’re given 3,000 credits to spend, and most of the CinePacks are around 500 credits. To find out what the CinePack includes before buying, tap the i in the top right corner. Once you’ve decided, tap Buy.

Step 3 of 7: Step 2: Equipping

Now that you’ve purchased your CinePack, head to the Inventory in the Menu, and tap Equip on your CinePack. Tap the top lefthand icon to drop down your equipment menu. You’ll see three options: Lenses, Films and Filters. You can choose one item in each menu to create your desired effect.

Step 4 of 7: Step 3: Recording

Tap the red record button once you’ve set up your scene. You can switch between filters, lenses and films while recording. You can also pause your filming and resume for a seamless, stitched-together movie covering various locations. When you’re finished, tap the record button again.

Step 5 of 7: Step 4: Finish and share

You’ll now see a ‘finish and share button’. Tap it and it will take you to the ‘film information’ page. Here, you can name your film, write a description, and tag it using your location. To tag, scroll through the list of nearby places and tap your choice so it turns green.

Step 6 of 7: Step 5: Showing friends

You can share your CineCam movie via email, YouTube, Twitter or Facebook, by tapping the relevant icon and entering your details. Each time you share, you’ll earn CineCam Credits. If you’d like to buy more CineCam credits, go to the menu, tap Store, then tap the credits icon in the bottom right corner.

Step 7 of 7: Step 6: Revisiting

If you decide not to share your film, it will be automatically saved in the playback area of the app, which can be accessed through the menu. You can view your past films here, and share them if you decide to at a later date. CineCam’s developers are currently working on an HD version of the app, so keep an eye out for that.
