How do I cancel Netflix through iTunes?

When you sign up for Netflix using the iPhone, iPad or Apple TV app then you are given the option of using iTunes billing to pay for your subscription.

The 'iTunes billing' feature makes it easy to subscribe to services like Netflix, by paying for it monthly using your App Store account, just as you would any other app.

Cancel Netflix through your iTunes subscription settings

If you signed up for Netflix and opted to pay for the monthly subscription using your App Store / iTunes account, then you may find the option to remove it somewhat obscure. Rather than cancel your subscription in Netflix itself (the obvious location), the option is hidden inside your Apple ID subscriptions.

Here is how to cancel Netflix on iTunes on an iPad or iPhone:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap iTunes & App Store.
  3. Tap Apple ID. Enter your Apple ID and password if required.
  4. Tap View Apple ID.
  5. Enter your password (or use Touch ID) to unlock your Account.
  6. Tap Manage under Subscriptions.
  7. Tap Netflix.
  8. Set Automatic Renewal to Off.

Your Netflix subscription will run to the end of your subscription cycle (normally a month). Then the Netflix app will stop streaming you video, and Apple will stop taking the monthly Netflix charge. If you want to resubscribe to Netflix at any time, you can use the Netflix app or Renewal Options under your Subscription settings.
