Step 1: Getting started
Download Agenda Calendar and then tap the icon to load the app. The default view is five days, with today highlighted and appointments from different calendars colour-coded. Turn the phone sideways for a week view; alternatively, swipe right for a month view, then right again for a six-month overview.
Step 2: Create an appointment
Return to the main view and tap the ‘+’ button. Tap in a title for the appointment, a location, and then a start and end time. Tap the Done button when you’re finished. At the next screen, choose the relevant calendar and add extra details, such as an alarm or repeat, if necessary. Tap Done to finish.
Step 3: The appointment view
Back at the main view, tap on the date of the appointment to open the day view and then tap the appointment itself. From this screen you can tap the title of the appointment to edit it, but there are also a couple of other options, indicated here by an email button and a message button. Tap the email button.
Step 4: Running late
Agenda Calendar has three templates for handling situations common to many appointments – the first confirms the meeting is still on, the second says you’ve arrived and the third says you’re running late. Choose the last option and then a time, and the app will send an email to say you’re running late.
Step 5: Change settings
Pop back out to the main screen and tap the cog icon. From here you can set the app’s options such as which calendars to use. But for now, tap Extras and turn Highlight Weekends and Goal View on. Next, experiment by choosing a different theme – such as Daring Fireball – and tap Done.
Step 6: Setting goals
Return to the main four-day view and swipe right three times to reveal the new view. This is specifically designed for long-term goals that don’t necessarily have a specific deadline – things that you’d like to get done this year, for example. Tap the ‘+’ button, add a goal, choose a month and click Done, then Done again.
