A search engine firm claims that it is seeing an “unannounced product” running Mac OS X in its web visit logs.
The search engine company says that the display resolution of this “unannounced product” sits between the iPhone (480x320) and the 13in MacBook (1,280x800), reports the New York Times.
The finding has lead to speculation that Apple is testing a small netbook-style device, despite Apple CEO Steve Jobs claims this week that the iPhone provides the web browsing and other features required by netbook users.
The claims could also back up rumours that Apple is developing a multi-touch tablet, perhaps to launch during Jobs’ keynote at Macworld San Francisco.
It should also be noted that it is possible to hack netbooks and run Mac OS X on them, and that this could explain the findings.

Possibly just some Hackintosh-netbooks?

Although I might wish otherwise I suspect this is a Hackintosh. Simplest explanations are most often true.
