Some users are claiming that iOS 5.0.1 hasn't fixed issues with battery life that it was supposed to remedy.

In fact, some who have applied the update are even reporting that the battery lifespan of their iOS device is even worse, according to a thread on Apple's discussion forum.

"After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even faster! Anyone else seeing this problem?" one post reads.

"I can support this too.. After installing 5.01 i charged it up fully before going to bed and after 7 hrs just sitting there lost 79%, and have lost further 5% while logging in and typing this. Going to try a full back up and restore this eve..." wrote another.

Hands on with iOS over-the-air updates

"Before the 5.0.1 update I actually didn't have any battery problems on my iPhone 4S. But thanks to this update I now seem to have one, too," another reads.

Not everyone agreed, though. "After the update my battery life is SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER. Perhaps you are all not applying your setting scorrectly or have apps running in the background. People jump on the bandwagon so quickly when they don't even know what the true cause of the issue is. It might be user error," another post reads.

Apple hasn't issued a response yet, though we want to hear from those of you who have upgraded to iOS 5.0.1. Tell us what your experience has been in the Comments section below.

Installing it now, but to be honest, one battery life wasn't any worse or better than my iPhone4, the 4S seems the same to me. Hopefully, I haven't installed an update that causes me this problem now! lol

When I first "Updated" to iOS 5 it was via 'Restore' I kept getting 'Errors' via 'Update', it didn't work. My iTunes does not download iOS software, anymore, it gives up near the end stating there was an error. So, now, I download via a website & then via Option key do a 'restore'.
I did a 'Restore' and it improved but, after the download of iOS 5 my 3GS has slowed, keyboard freezes on letters & gets stuck on type then catches up by typing the whole word. Sometimes the 'Contacts' freezes when pressing on a name, I can get no further to my info. It locks me out of the iPhone by not opening up after inputting my 4 digits, sometimes the slider does not work. At times the phone rings but the iPhone will not let me answer it as it goes dark. Pressing the 'Home' button does not change it (keeps it inactive), pressing it a few times brings on the Music App
Re-booting helps, until the next sync
I have updated to 5.1, so far so good
My battery has been fine throughout this process
