Paddy Power is offering odds of 9/1 that Apple will unveil the iPad 3 at an education-themed event due to be held in New York next week.
Apple is due to make an announcement at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan's Upper East Side on Wednesday 19 January but offered precious few details about the even in an invite sent to members of the US press.
The smart money is on a digital textbook-related announcement, but if you really think that a next-generation iPad is what'll be shown off then you can place your bets with the bookie, which is offering 6/1 on an iPad Lite and 9/1 on the iPad 3.
Even longer odds have been given on an Apple television set, which is also thought to be more unlikely than the return of the iMac desktop, which we find rather curious. The iPhone 5 is a rank outsider at 20/1.
