Apple may have plans to bring Aperture to the iPad and iPhone.
A report claims that Apple is recruiting for a Cocoa coding position with the Aperture team with a key requirement for the job being: "Experience in programming for iOS."
An AppleInsider reader was approached by a recruiting company working on behalf of Apple. The job is consistent with a posting for an "Aperture- Software Engineering Manager" on the Jobs at Apple website.
The role will “help shape a new generation of tools for advanced photo management and manipulation.”

The description of that role states: “The ideal candidate will have experience leading the development of MacOS and/or iOS applications,” and states that the candidate should have: “Recent hands-on development experience with MacOS or iOS.”

While am iOS device is unlikely to match the processing power of a Mac for working with high res images, a companion Aperture app could be a useful tool for photographers wishing to show clients images.
