New 3D renderings of Apple’s next generation iPhone have been created, based on the photos and video of allegedly leaked iPhone parts.
The renderings, first published by a Chinese iPhone news website, show a black iPhone with the rumoured smaller dock connector, larger speakers, and an aluminium back, as well as a taller, 4in display.
The images are so convincing that it was first believed by several publications that they were photographs. It was later discovered that the renderings were originally created by Flickr user Martin uit Utrecht, who explains that they were modelled in Rhinoceros 3D.
The original report wrongly claimed that the images were “the most likely photos leaked” of the iPhone 5, after finding no traces of Photoshop editing.
