The Angry Birds franchise is having a good week, celebrating its third birthday as well as news that Despicable Me producer John Cohen will be heading up the project.
The film is scheduled for release in 2016. Rovio has revealed no details about the plot and says it "plans to produce and finance the movie to avoid losing 'creative control' at the hands of a movie studio," according to Mashable.
To celebrate Angry Birds third anniversary, Rovio has updated the original game to Angry Birds 3.0 with 30 new levels.
New features include a new pink bird, 15 new Birdday levels. And 15 more Bad Piggies themed levels. The game has also been updated for the 4in screen on the iPhone 5.
