- Manufacturer: GearZap
- Pros: Decent level of screen protection, cleans up well, some anti-glare benefits, relatively easy to fit and adjust, promises to leave no residue if film is removed, 12 months warranty, useful online video tutorial.
- Cons: Protection comes at a cost and your iPads good looks are somewhat compromised, fairly pricey when you consider the initial cost of the iPad, some stubborn bubbles, cleaning cloth not supplied.
- Min specs: Compatible iPad.
- Price: £22.95
- Star rating:
The Power Support Anti-Glare Screen Protector for iPad helps protect screens while reducing some of the glare associated with many Apple products. The two pronged approach should please many iPad users, although sadly all screen protectors are a compromise, distracting from while protecting Apple's seductive 9.7-inch diagonal LED-backlit glossy widescreen. The Power Support film is at least fairly easy and mess free to fit.
You'll need a pair of scissors handy to carefully cut off the top of the cardboard packaging as the glue flap at the bottom can leave sticky marks when you remove the film. With clean hands, lint-free cloth and flat area with ideally the top of the iPad facing you, users can start peeling back the edge of the backing. Before you fit the film, make sure you have it the right way round, careful to avoid covering the home button. With all screens some bubbles do form, but you can start to ease these out once the film is in place. There’s a fair amount of scope for adjusting and realigning the film, although you need to be careful not to make matters worse by touching the adhesive side, which is prone to marking up and clouding.

A short but useful video tutorial is available online and worth watching. The whole process took less than 15 minutes and produced results which we could live with. For £22.95 we would have liked to have seen a cleaning cloth included in the package, which is essential before you attempt to fit the screen. Additionally the kit only protects the screen and not the back of the iPad, so users may also need to invest in a case or sleeve. The Power Support Anti-Glare Screen Protector for iPad is available from GearZap.com.
