Tue, 29 Nov 2011 Find My Friends for iOS review
Keep track of your friends
On the face of it, Find My Friends is brilliant.
Launch it and invite your friends or family to install it and sign up for the service using their Apple IDs. If they ‘follow’ you, they’ll know where you are and vice versa.
If they don’t always want you to know, they can agree to let you know temporarily; there are also privacy controls so you can ‘hide’ from your followers, and parental controls to lock down settings so your kids can’t hide from you, or be followed by anyone inappropriate.
But Find My Friends’ problem is that despite a lovely execution, its interface is a little unintutive. And unlike the near-identical Google Latitude, it’s restricted to iOS 5.
