Memonic for iPad and iPhone combines a standalone app, web-based service, and Safari bookmarklet to enable you to save material from the web, take quick notes, save bookmarks and web pages, organise disparate content from a variety of sources, and share what you’ve gathered and noted with others.

Some of Memonic’s power lies in its syncing capabilities; the content, folders and tags we created to organise material were available via the Mac OS version of Memonic, the iPad and iPhone apps, and our online Memonic account with little delay, and synced without a hitch.

Using the bookmarklet require a special touch, and only after using Memonic for a few hours were we able to apply the right finger pressure at the proper angle to carry out each function.

Using the app is, for the most part, a pleasure: organising items is simple, and you can search your collection, and share items via email or on Facebook and Twitter.

Memonic come in two versions: a free account that allows you to save up to 100 notes and limits file sizes to 2MB, and a premium account. For £18 a year, a premium account allows for an unlimited number of notes, and files up to 20MB in size; it also enables Gathering Mode when collecting web items, which lets you specify which folder items are placed in.
