Mon, 09 Jan 2012 Ticket to Ride Pocket for iOS review
Take the role of a 19th-century US railroad baron
- Manufacturer: Days of Wonder
- Pros: Can play your friends locally using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
- Cons: Can’t buy extra maps; no Game Center support
- Price: 69p
- Star rating:
Like the iPad version, Ticket to Ride Pocket puts you in the role of a 19th-century US railroad baron.
While the iPad edition has additional maps available via in-app purchase, there are none in this version. The other major missing feature is that you won’t be able to challenge friends via Game Center or Days of Wonder’s own online service. You can, however, play locally using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The game itself features the same style, art and gameplay as its iPad counterpart, with adjustments made for the smaller screen.
Information about players is still displayed at the top of the screen, and you can pinch-to-zoom around the map.
