Destroy everything and earn lots of money by doing so
- Manufacturer: Electronic Arts

- Cons: Doesn’t take much effort to progress
- Price: £2.99
- Star rating:
First launched to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network last year, Burnout CRASH extracts the popular Crash mode from the Burnout games and brings it into a game of its own. There’s no complicated plot here: the aim of the game is to cause as much havoc as you can with your vehicle, working your way through a series of junctions and settings.
The more damage you make, the more money you get – and as they say points mean prizes! It looks amazing: from the time you start the game you’re presented with Crash by The Primitives as a car comes on screen then crashes into the main title. Similarly bang the gold car on each stage and you’re treated to a few seconds of Gold by Spandau Ballet; hit a bank truck and it’s Shirley Bassey’s Big Spender.
Burnout CRASH is divided into 18 intersections; each featuring three challenges – Road Trip; Rush Hour and Pile Up. The moral of the story, regardless of the way you’re playing it, is to steer a car into traffic. The more vehicles you impact, or that impact you, the faster the CrashBreaker meter fills – once it’s full, tap it and you’ll get a bigger explosion from your own vehicle taking out much of the scenery and other traffic on the road at the same time.
Watch out for the Pizza Wheel of Fortune in early stages; as well as the Asteroid Super Bonus.
