A leather version of the Smart Cover for the iPhone
The Orion case by Mapi is an attractive leather case (available in black, brown or red) that fuses together an attractive layer of padding with some of the stand functionality from Apple’s Smart Cover from the iPad.
Slip your iPhone inside the leather case and use the press stud tab to secure it in place. Spaces in the leather case provide access for the dock connector, cameras, and buttons.
So far, so regular (albeit nicely made). What makes the Orio special is the cues Mapi have taken from apple’s own Smart Cover on the iPad. The flap of the front of the device (to protect the screen) clasps magnetically together so it can be easily fliped open and shut. The flap also folds up in a triangular pattern to form a stand that can be used to keep the iPad held up (it can be twisted 90 degrees to provide both a vertical and horizontal stand).
Although the iPhone doesn’t benefit from having a stand for typing on, it does make watching videos much easier. The only downside is that the leather case and stand/flap make the case quite bulky.
