Pitch Norse gods against Chinese monkeys
If Autumn Dynasty is serious, meaty real-time strategy, Swords & Soldiers heads in the opposite direction entirely. An openly cartoonish clash of mythologies, this has Norse gods facing off against Chinese monkeys, and giant Indiana Jones-style boulders pulping armies of Vikings in an instant.
While you do need a decent tactical understanding of what best counters what, especially in the later levels, the game's more concerned with being silly than it is clever.
With the game managing unit movement itself - it's all played side-on, with the two armies mechanically marching towards each other's bases - you're left to ponder what/who to recruit, what spells to cast and how to counter enemy special abilities.
