Manufactured by Robert J Turner & Co - professional cabinetmakers based in Hertfordshire, England - the WoodPad range, as the name suggests, are wood-based stands for Apple's iOS devices. It’s been around awhile but has been joined by a new variation on the theme - WoodPad Duo. Designed for a combination of iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and/or compatible Bluetooth keyboard - it acts as both a stand and storage solution - somewhere visible to keep your iPhone for instance, while at home or work.
As with the original, the stand is manufactured to a high standard and looks and feels well made, with your iDevice sitting in one of two grooves designed and angled for optimum viewing. The quality finish extends to the small, non-slip rubber feet, which also ensures the WoodPad Duo won't leave any marks or scratches. Currently, the WoodPad Duo is only available in Oak with satin pre-catalyst lacquer finish, which is a little disappointing consider the original WoodPad has a selection of varied woods to choose from.
If you're looking for a stand that holds your iPad in a vice like grip while trampolining then the WoodPad Duo isn't it. The stand positions your device at an angle and should you wish, you can rock your iPad with your finger. In normal use, and we've even successfully balanced the stand on a bed and long, bumpy train journey, the WoodPad Duo is just fine.
