The cat and mouse game between Apple and the hacking community continues, with reports this morning that iPhone Software 2.0 has already been unlocked - even though it's not yet on general release.

The iPhone Dev Team explain it took them a couple of months to get Apple's first release of the software cracked, but with that work under their belt, the currently only partially available software is no easy to unlock.

The software is stable and effective, reports Gizmodo, where a reporter has been using the Vodafone network with the hacked version of iPhone Software 2.0 since last week.

The hackers plan to release a "Pwnage" tool for users to unlock and jailbreak their handsets.
